Archangel Michael Day Two of 30 Paintings In 30 Days.

I had what I would categorize as a super natural experience not too long ago. Something happened that I cannot explain. I’m not going to go into great detail about it because it is kind of private, but I told my friend, Molly Field, about it and she thought it was Archangel Michael. I don’t know much about angels and I can be pretty skeptical, but after what Molly said, and after looking up facts about Michael I have to say, even through all of my skepticism, she might be right. I mean, I believe she is right. It’s just too fitting.

Before I started Googling about Michael I painted something. Molly hinted  she would like to see me paint my experience and it seemed like a good idea. Sometimes words fail to express it all and art helps. I got out the paints and tried to express my emotions. This is what I ended up with.

After painting it I decided to do a bit of research and was surprised to read that Michael’s aura is so bright it looks like deep purple or cobalt blue. Part of my experience was a bright light. I think I captured that glow with my tree. The dark background of my painting is a combination of deep purple and cobalt blue. What a coincidence!

Michael is a protector concerned with truth, integrity, courage, and strength. I can’t imagine a symbol that would represent those ideals more clearly for me than a tree.

When I was a child there was an apple tree in my maternal grandparent’s yard. I spent a lot of time in that tree. It was a safe place for me. I ran there to be comforted, to hide, and to think. When I was young my grandparents home was a safe haven and a place where I felt protected. It all ties together wonderfully. Trees still hold a protective quality for me.

Have you ever had a super natural experience? Do you believe in angels? Have you ever painted something to express your emotions because you couldn’t express yourself adequately with words?
