Oreo was a wonderful cat and adored babies. You are missed, Oreo.
I think it’s especially hard to lose a beloved pet when you have small children. We lost our dog lost August and my daughter was heart broken, but she was also brave. I think her heart break was harder to bare than my own.
I lost one of my favorite pets a year or so before my first daughter was born and I must have talked about him a lot because my daughter claims to remember him and even tells stories about him. My memories have become her memories.
So, just like we do with the people we have lost, we also keep the memories of our pets alive. If you have lost a pet recently I hope you have someone to tell your stories to. Someone to share your memories with.
