It’s Sunday night and I am supposed to be adding art to my Etsy store so I can sell it. I don’t know why, but I always find this task very overwhelming. I have to get the best photograph I can. I have to take measurements of each piece. I have to describe what each art piece is made out of and made with. I have to tell a story and write a description of it. It’s a lot of work and emotional too. It’s like putting your children up for adoption. I worry, will they be taken care of well in their new home? So I procrastinate and hyperventilate and exaggerate and write blog posts in the middle of it all.
So, I told myself to slow down. Don’t forget to breathe.
I can imagine many of you can relate on a Sunday night. The week is about to begin. We are all trying to get so much done and to be prepared for what is going to be coming at us tomorrow…the dreaded Monday. So, I went looking for things about breathing to share with you.
Also, do you remember Silas Be, he contributed to my Examining The Creative Mind Series? He got his lung transplant and is doing really, really well. I tear up with every status update his friends post about him. Last night was the first night he was able to sleep without an oxygen machine in years…I think he said 15 years. I think that is pretty amazing and worth celebrating. I am so happy for him today.
Thoughts on breathing:
The Breathing Blog (a musicians guide to healthy breathing): Don’t forget to breath…
Quotes from awesome books about breathing on Goodreads: Quotes About Breathing.
The Sydney Morning Herald: Just stop and breathe. I like this one because Tiny-Small tells me to stop and breathe when I get upset over something. It’s what I always tell her to do when she gets upset and now she is telling me!
Yahoo News: Giant steel Dragon in Vietnam breathes fire. Just cool.
Song Sets: 5903 songs containing ‘breath’. That’s a lot of songs!
Hello Poetry: Poems by word: Breathing.
Google Images: Breathe. There is a lot of beauty here.
I hope you have a nice, calm week ahead of you. Appreciate your lungs. Take some deep breaths! Feel alive.
P.S. Breathe is one of those words I can never spell correctly. I always forget the e at the end. So. Spell check doesn’t help either. One day I will master the spelling of this word, maybe. Probably not.
Your little faces are adorable!
Thank you!
I needed this reminder today, thanks!
Great advice, and not just for Sundays!!
I forget to breath quite often and find myself panicked about what needs to be done. Thank you for the advise!
I’m right there with you. Bad spellers of the world…UNITE.
I am high-fiving you from across the country.
I can well understand how painful it must be to give away something that you created! 🙂
