Have I mentioned that I have Carpal Tunnel in both wrists…? Yep. I have to wear braces on my arms sometimes. I am lucky that I don’t have it really bad yet. I don’t have to wear braces all of the time. I have good days. The thing is, I have been typing like a lunatic lately which means my wrists are starting to get that frayed nerve ending, I-would-make-you-stop-typing, if I only had a brain feeling. Stupid wrists.
I also have more bad news. Now that I have gotten my iPhone I think I am developing carpal tunnel finger. I know that is not exactly the scientific name for it, but it’s the same, repetitive motion problem, just in finger form. The thing is, you are not going to believe which finger it is…

So, there you have it. My middle finger is killing me. It feels like I jammed it about five or six times in a row. On a positive note, this is probably the first, last and only time I will ever get away with giving you all the middle finger. I am just going to take a moment and contemplate my gratitude toward carpal tunnel and it’s best friend jammed-up-finger right now. Yep. Totally worth it.
P.S. I am keeping this short and sweet. Maybe I should call this Almost Wordless Thursday, Wordless Wednesdays illegitimate twin sister…wait, is that even possible?
I hope your Thursday is repetitive injury free! Long live Thursdays, long lost sister to Wordless Wednesdays (twins in spirit only). XoOXOxo
I have carpal tunnel too! I think I have a milder case…so far. I haven’t used braces, but my hands sure tingle and fall asleep a lot. I try to be opitimistic about it. I wouldn’t be dealing this if I wasn’t writing and painting! The photos are hilarious. By the way, you have really nice teeth.
I am glad you thought the pictures were funny. I think I lost a facebook follower because of them…haha! Oh well. Make sure you let your wrists rest. I am dreading the surgery. I will tell my mom what you said about my teeth. She spent a lot of money on braces. I am sure she will be happy to know that money was well spent! Thank you.
I have carpal tunnel too, which is occasionally aggravated by my smart phone use. LOL I would totally flip people off if I could get away with it too. 😉
I figured this was my only chance to do it and get away with it. I’m all carpe diem up in here…haha!
Hahaha! I think I am going to put myself in carpal tunnel mode, since there is a scientific name for it I can always have it as an excuse hahaha well if it can comforts you somehow middlefinger is called dedo corazon in Spanish that is heart finger lol xxx
Only in the U.S. would waving your heart finger around be an insult…sigh….
Oh sorry maybe I did not say it properly middlefinger as “the finger in the middle” of our hand is called the “heart finger” …as for the insult I think it is international lol
Haha! I have only been to Mexico and South Africa. I am not very international, obviously. I have much to learn. I never experimented with using the middle finger in either country, but perhaps that is a good thing! 🙂
that’s too bad. I would say that you should blog less then, but I dont want that, so you just need to hang in there!! 🙂
One day I will find good voice recognition software and I will dictate my blogs. I could never give up my voice now!
For your smart phone get one of those pen thingies. They’re like 20 bucks and worth every penny. I totally janked my thumb when I first got mine and the pen has made it so much better.
Also, for general wrist support, take magnesium (1000 mg a day) and glucosamine sulfate. Helps like you can’t imagine! And drink mineral water if you can, it mainlines all the good stuff right to your blood and joints.
Get yourself a little massage ball that you can roll around on your joints and fingers. It releases built-up fluid and decreases inflammation.
I’ve struggled with tendinitis in both wrists for years and so have lots of tips and tricks to get around it. Listen to your body. When you need to rest, it’ll tell you. Our own bodies are our best source of healing, but sometimes the hardest thing is to acknowledge that.
Health to your hands!
🙂
Hugs,
Zuzu
Thank you for the tips. An old friend from high school sent me a link to one of those balls you are talking about. I need to go and get one. I am trying to stop when I feel the twinges of pain. I am always trying to soldier through things and wear my pain like a badge of honor. Sometimes I can be so dumb it’s not even funny! Listening to my body is one of my greatest weaknesses and I am working on paying more attention. This is a good reminder! I am about to order some vitamins for my husband so I will add the magnesium and glucosamine sulfate to the list!
LOL. I think that was a fabulous photo shoot. And I haven’t felt my fingers, wrists, or hands in 10 years. The good news? I can still type 85 wpm! Sadly, only about 4 or 5 words actually pop into my head per minute. Eh.
If only the brain would keep up with the hands. Sadly I have the same affliction.
