*This giveaway is closed* Congratulations to Shirley for winning!

I am so excited today because I am giving away a ceramic art tile! I’m celebrating each Saturday during the month of November with art giveaways for my readers. I hope you are having as much fun as I am.

Ceramic Art Giveaway - Gratitude For My Readers
This tile is 4.25 inches x 4.25 inches.

I painted this tile using alcohol inks. The tree is one of my favorite themes to explore. The tile is sealed with a UV resistant gloss finish. It comes with a wooden stand to display it with. If you’d like to see a few more of my art tiles you can see some here in my Etsy Shop.

We just drove to California and back. Between all of the traffic, the people, and the non-stop, busy, go-go-go way of life in California I am very grateful to be back in my small town. Sometimes I grumble about the slow pace of life here and the lack of things to do, but after a visit to the “big city” I really appreciate the time and space I have here to think and have solitude. I have gratitude for where I live today.

What are you feeling especially grateful for right now?

Don’t Forget To Wear Green And One Last Landscape (Day 15)

Don’t forget to wear green today! I know, if I wanted to impact what you were wearing today I should have posted this blog a wee bit earlier, right? I am so excited it’s St. Patrick’s Day even though I don’t have anything planned. I am going to sneak some green food dye into a few food items to surprise Tiny-Small. Hopefully she won’t be so surprised she refuses to eat any of it. I guess that’s a risk I am willing to take today, the day of green!

It’s the last day of my Landscape challenge. This is day 15. I am happy because I want to get back to painting some flowers for Spring. I have a box of tiles calling to me…paint me! PAINT ME!

I am also working on a few portraits and my gratitude boxes. I’ve been trying to put more merchandise in my Etsy shop, but that has been going much slower than I planned. For some reason I am not very good at carving out time to add things to my Etsy shop. I don’t like having to answer so many questions before I can list an item. It’s very time-consuming. I’ve been seeking advice for how to list things more efficiently and so far people have told me to use the phone app. Do you have any Etsy listing tips you’d like to share? I’d be grateful for any insights you might have.

Watch out for leprechaun’s today! Watch out for drunk drivers too. Does that make me sound old? Probably, but I don’t care. Stay safe! I’m a mother now so I can say things like that.

P.S. I wrote about my stubborn, funny, looking-for-a-fight Irish family last year if your curious and if you want to see me and my dog wearing an Irish Princess crown: Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

If you just like crowns I am wearing one in this post too where I lament trying too hard to be a fabulous blogger: Wait, How Much Longer Do I Have To Be Fabulous?

Happy St. Patrick’s Day! May it be filled with rainbows and a pot of gold!

Yucca Sunset Painting – Landscape 11

Yucca At Sunset -Landscape 11
Yucca Sunset Painting: Alcohol ink painting on a 4-1/4 x 4-1/4 ceramic tile.

This Yucca Sunset painting was fun to paint. I need to scan it into the computer to get a better photograph of it. Using the camera was difficult because it is super shiny and the reflections were impossible to conquer.

Anyway…on to other news!

I am kind of excited today because we went to the accountant to get our taxes squared away (I hate tax season!) and we decided to turn my hobby business into a real, bona fide business. I have been telling Jim all day long that, “I’m a real business now, just like Pinocchio became a real boy.” He’s not as amused as I am. Still…yay! I am all official now. It feels pretty good. I get to collect taxes for the state of New Mexico too, and I am totally apologizing in advance to New Mexico since I’ve never sold a single painting to any one of it’s residents. So, my tax collection might be zero for a while, at least until Tiny-Small gets big enough to go to local craft shows with me to help me hawk my wares. She’s totally going to be calling the child labor law people by the time she is five. I just know it. Maybe I can bribe her with chocolate and a 401K plan? Let’s hope so. If they hassle me, I’ll just tell them she is a short 16 year old. Once they meet her and get a taste of her attitude I am sure they won’t doubt me for a moment.

Anyway, the taxes had to be done and we had someone come out to look at our well and give us an estimate for a water holding tank today. That is why my post is so late. It’s also why I am ready to go hide out in my studio for a while. Two professionals in one day is about as much professional socializing as I can handle in eight hours. I feel like hanging a sign around my neck that says, “No more talking. No more questions will be answered today. Chocolate milkshakes will be accepted.” That would be a sign big enough to strangle me, but seriously, I don’t want to talk anymore…especially about numbers.

Also, I am waiting for the next season of Downton Abbey to arrive. Not to spoil anything, but last season everybody died. Well, there was one survivor, but she road off on a unicorn. I have no idea what they are going to do in season 4. In all seriousness, if season 3 had been a book I would have thrown it across the room. It really made me upset, but don’t worry, everyone is not really dead. I lied. I just wanted to talk about unicorns and plus, I kind of enjoy picturing the cast of Downton Abbey riding off on one. Hilarious! If Stephen King were writing this series I am pretty sure there would be unicorns in the end, or aliens, or maybe a supernatural entity. Now I wish Stephen King was writing the ending to Downton Abbey. Anyway, if they were all dead who would model all of that fabulous fashion? Plus, I mean, there are more seasons so obviously somebody lived. Maybe.

Happy, Thursday! Don’t worry, the weekend is almost upon us.
