I Plan To Give Away a Painting Next Month, But I Need Your Help!

Tiny-Small gives the giveaway 2 thumbs up.

I plan to giveaway a painting next month. What?! Give away a painting! I can’t believe it. This is so exciting. Yesterday, when I was learning how to make paper pumpkins over at This Blogger Makes Fun of Stuff I started roaming around their website for fun. I am nosey. I wanted to know how it all works. It’s like looking in people’s windows at night, except it’s legal to poke around in websites (lucky for me). I discovered you can linky-lou your giveaway and they will help you promote it…for free! How awesome is that? I was there just last month and thinking about doing a give away…someday. I even left a comment about it and then I COMPLETELY FORGOT ABOUT IT! I am lucky I remember anything these days, seriously. I have to make lists of the lists I need to make just to get through the day. I’m a bit of a disaster.

Tiny-Small will be slaving away while I paint for you.

Moving along, another thing that reminded me I wanted to do a giveaway was winning a giveaway from Quirky Chrissy. I loved participating in her super mysterious contest and most of all I loved winning, obviously! It’s so much fun to win things from friends who are strangers who are really friends that I just got super excited about doing my own give away all over again. It was like a new idea that was actually an old idea. Anyway, I think “someday” has arrived and I want to do a giveaway next month. WOO HOO! I am ready to do my first give away. Well, almost ready. This is where I need your help.

I have a lot of experience painting ugly dogs, I mean dogs named Rosie.

What kind of painting would you want to win? I don’t know what to paint. I was hoping some of you would throw some ideas out there for me. Do you want flowers? If so, what kind? Do you want kittens or monkeys or jack rabbits or zombies? The possibilities are endless. If you give me some hints on what to paint I’ll be off to a nice start for next month. I am so excited I probably won’t sleep for a week.

So, if you have a preference to the kind of painting you want to maybe (hopefully) win then leave me a comment and let me know. If you want to know what I paint best take a look at my slide show here. Yay! This is going to be fun. Also, stay tuned for the actual blog post where I unveil the painting I want to give away and tell you how to enter the whole shebang (which will be occurring next month…date to be announced)!

  1. Your work is great! I like random swirls and colors and brights with quotes on them. It’s like a great painting, a thought, and something to read all a the same time. Dork here.

    1. I like this idea. I have been trying to do some collages with all of those elements. It’s something different for me, but I like a challenge.

  2. How abundantly cool!!! I wish you EVERY success with your giveaway – and I so hope I win!!!
OK — I checked out your slide show, and amid oohs and aahs there were “I want that one!” Oh — I really want THAT one!” So somehow, I don’t think i am going to be much help…
I love the flowers you do – especially the rudbeckia and the echinacea – gorgeous! And the wild cat – #4 – so powerful! And i love those of you with Tiny Small, and her solo appearances, and the closeups of the kitty faces. How is that for narrowing things down? 🙂
How about this – would you tell us what you most enjoy painting? and is there something you have always wanted to try but haven’t yet done?
    Have a beautiful day!

    1. Right now I have been into painting birds and flowers in watercolor and of course animals in the acrylics and collage. I recently painted a peacock that came out well. I will think about something new that I haven’t painted before. That might be fun! The mountain lion is one of my favorites. I have been forbidden to ever sell it! Thanks for checking out my paintings and leaving such a nice comment.

  3. I love the goat the best, even though I thought he was a giraffe at first. I love the mountain lion, too. I think you should do an animal other than a horse. And pick me to win. 😉

    1. There will be no horses. Haha! I couldn’t do that to you nice people. I think that goat looks a little like a giraffe. Especially the close up!

  4. I would be excited to win any of your paintings! I couldn’t help but see “zombie monkeys” when you listed out suggestions. I like dark art, what can I say?

    1. I keep imagining what zombie monkeys would look like. I mean, I am assuming that monkeys would be able to catch the zombie plague if it were to be unleashed. Still, nobody really talks about that much.

    1. I don’t know why I didn’t include it. I think I needed a better picture and then promptly forgot all about it…motherhood rotted my brain. I may have delivered it out with the placenta.

  5. I know this is a bit of a step outside of the amazing things you normally paint… but since your blog is called “It’s a Dome Life,” why not do a painting of your geodesic dome house and the landscape around it? After all, Buckminster Fuller would be proud!

    1. I also had a suggestion to paint me dancing around the Dome…you people are dangerous! A Dome would be an interesting challenge. I haven’t attempted to do any buildings in a long time. I find them a little boring, but that might be because most of them are square or rectangular…a dome is round. I might enjoy it more!

  6. I love the florals too – have you tried alstroemeria? Nice detail and shape to work with. So I think I have narrowed it down to a kitty close up, a wolf, mountain lion, dragon or alstroemeria. Big help, right? 🙂

    1. Know I haven’t tried alstroemeria…I will have to google it and see what it looks like. The names is very pretty! You have been a great help! 🙂
